LG Dishwasher L0 / L1 / L2 / L3 / L4 (Rinse Aid Level) error code

Difficulty: Easy · Cost: $0–$10 · Duration: 2m

The rinse aid level display is not an error code. It shows the current rinse aid dispenser setting on your LG dishwasher. The dispenser has five adjustment levels from L0 to L4 and is set to level 2 at the factory. Setting the level too low causes spotting, streaking, and poor drying performance. Setting it too high causes foaming which leads to poor wash performance. The level can be checked and adjusted directly from the control panel.

Common causes

  • Rinse aid level setting mode was accessed from the control panel
  • Display is showing the current rinse aid dispenser level as a normal indicator

How to fix it

  1. 1

Press DUAL ZONE and POWER at the same time to check the current rinse aid setting

  2. 2

Press DELAY START to change the setting — each press moves one step from L0 to L4

  3. 3

Press START to save the new setting once you have selected the desired level

  4. 4

The recommended starting level is L2 — increase if dishes have spots or streaks, decrease if foaming occurs

  5. 5

Make sure the rinse aid dispenser is filled — an empty dispenser at L0 will cause poor drying performance
